CNA Training in ME – Maine

Nursing assistant training in the state of Maine includes a state certified nursing assistant training program and successfully passing the exam for certification.  There are various nursing assistant training courses available throughout the state of Maine.  You can find full and part-time training programs most of which last only a few weeks.  Courses are designed to prepare individuals well for a career as a CNA.  Many healthcare facilities offer training courses as well as many community colleges and continuing education schools.

One of the nursing assistant programs available in Maine is through the Waterville Regional Adult and Community Education Program.  Nursing assistant training in Maine is more extensive than in some of the other states.  They require 150 hours of instruction which includes the classroom as well as clinical training.  Many healthcare facilities offer training on-site and will even hire individuals to train as nursing assistants (thus paying for their training) as long as the individuals will then retain employment with that facility.  If you have already completed your nursing assistant training, you can request reimbursement through an employer upon being hired.  Keep any receipts from training to be used if you do qualify with a nursing care facility for tuition reimbursement.

In Maine you have to be at least 16 years of age to be able to start a career as a certified nurse aide and there are no maximum age limits as long as you are physically fit to work you can. Students should also note that while the state has no restrictions on must having a high school diploma they have to have proof that they have finished ninth grade in school.
