If you have decided to start a career as a nursing assistant or to use a job as a CNA as a starting point for a career in the healthcare industry, you will need to enroll in a nursing assistant training program. The program must be approved by the state in order to qualify you for the certification exam that follows. Compared to other healthcare training, nursing assistant courses are inexpensive. You can even seek out free cna training options in Massachusetts. We have put together a list of free training options below:
Get in touch with long-term care communities and other nursing care providers in your local area. These facilities often offer free training for individuals who are interested in working as certified nursing assistants. They provide excellent training to prepare individuals well for a career as a certified nursing assistant. You can often receive training for free in exchange for agreeing to be employed by the facility for an agreed upon amount of time.
Nursing assistant certification training can sometimes be obtained for free though the Workforce and Continuing Education Department. A grant is available to low income individuals who are 17 to 21 years of age and who have graduated from high school. You can access financial assistance for your uniforms and other related expenses (including childcare expenses if you have a child) as well.
You can apply for financial assistance to train for a new career as a certified nursing assistant if you are unemployed or are low income. You might very well find that you qualify to receive a grant to pay the cost of tuition and expenses for a nursing assistant training program. It does not hurt to ask if any such programs are available for your situation.
Call the Board of Nursing in Massachusetts if you are looking for free cna training opportunities. The Board of Nursing should be able to point you in the direction of any special programs available in the state to help people pay for training. They should also be able to point you in the direction of organizations that offer grants and scholarships for individuals who are looking to train for a new career.
