Free CNA Training in IA – Iowa

You can find options for free cna training in the state of Iowa if you are interested in becoming a certified nursing assistant.  Training programs will cost a few hundred dollars unless you find a free program or receive enough financial assistance to cover all costs associated with training.  Keep in mind that you must attend a training program that has been approved by the state if you want to become certified. See below for a list of free and low-cost training options available to you.

You might currently be working in a non-medical related field for a healthcare provider.  If your employer hires certified nursing assistants and you wish to start a new career, you might be able to receive free training.  Share your interest in starting a new career with your employer.  If you are a good employee, the employer just might be willing to cover the cost of your training if you will then work for them as a certified nursing assistant.

If you are not working for a healthcare provider but are interested in doing so (as a CNA), contact nursing care facilities in your area.  These facilities often train their own nursing assistants on-site.  You can apply to be employed as a nursing assistant with the nursing care provider.  If your application is accepted, they will pay for your training as long as you continue to work for them after becoming certified.

Perhaps you have already paid for and received your nursing assistant certification.  If you have done so in the past year, there are ways to be reimbursed for the cost of your training.  You can apply for reimbursement if you are hired by a nursing care facility that is Medicaid and Medicare.  You will usually need to work for your new employer for a few weeks before you are eligible for reimbursement.

Take some time to search for training options that work for you.  While you are searching for programs, you are likely to stumble upon some free training options.
