Free CNA Training in MI – Michigan

You should be proud of yourself if you have decided to start a career as a nursing assistant.  When working as a certified nursing assistant, you will make a difference in the lives of patients in nursing care and other healthcare settings.  Before you can become a nursing assistant, you will need to complete a training program and take the subsequent certification exam.  You can even search for free cna training options in Michigan. See below for a list of free training opportunities.

Apply for grants and scholarships if you are planning to attend a can training program at a college or institute of higher learning.  Talk to the financial aid options to determine if the program is eligible for financial assistance.  If you are able to receive a large enough scholarship or grant or a combination of both, you can cover the cost of tuition and related expenses for training.

The Red Cross offers cna classes for free to individuals who fall under the No Work Left Behind Act.  Michigan has this act to help individuals who earn less than $40,000 per year to train for a new career.  If you are currently employed and earning an income under $40,000, you should apply for free training through the American Red Cross.

Search for nursing care facilities in your local area.  Contact these nursing care providers to determine if they offer nursing assistant training for free.  You can often apply for employment as a nursing assistant before you have received your training.  Many employers will hire you to work for them for an agreed upon number of month.  You will be provided with free training to become a nursing assistant as long as you agree to work for that amount of time.

For those who are receiving welfare benefits, you can qualify to get access to free training by contacting the income assistance office in your state.
