Free CNA Training in CT – Connecticut

You can start a rewarding career as a certified nursing assistant in Connecticut by attending a training program that has been proved by the state and then passing the certification exam for nursing assistants.  If the expense of a training program is a concern, take the time to find free CNA training options in you local area. Scroll down for a comprehensive list of options for free training.

Check with community colleges and technical schools.  Some of these colleges will offer nursing assistant training programs.  Contact the financial aid department at any schools of interest to determine if you can apply for financial aid or scholarships.  You might find that you can access enough financial assistance to cover your tuition and related expenses.  Even if the courses are not being offered for credits, you might qualify for tuition assistance through military benefits or if you are currently a displaced worker.

Call a local branch of the National Association of Health Care Assistants.  You might find other organizations in your area that are also designed to benefit individuals who are working or planning to work in entry-level healthcare positions.  These organizations often provide scholarship opportunities for qualified individuals who need help to pay for training to enter into a healthcare field.

You might be able to receive a portion of your nursing assistant training online.  There are sometimes online training programs for CNAs that are offered for free.  This training covers classroom segments of nursing assistant training.  Clinical instruction must be completed offline.  If you consider attending an online training program, make certain it is approved by the state of Connecticut in order to be eligible to sit for the certification exam.

Start calling long-term care facilities and nursing care facilities in your community.  These facilities typically have a high-demand for motivated individuals to work as a certified nursing assistant.  It is quite common for nursing care facilities to hire individuals to work as a certified nursing assistants and then to provide them with the necessary training.  If your employer pays for your training, you will need to work as a CNA for the employer for an agreed upon amount of time.
