I HAVE 29YEARS EXP. AS A CNA WORKED 10 YEARS IN NEW YORK AND LIVED IN BALTIMORE FOR 16YEARS WITH A MARYLAND STATE CNA CERT. HOW CAN I GET THAT SWITCH OVER TO NEWYORK WITHOUT GOING BACK TO SCHOOL.

Hi Leanne. You can apply for reciprocity to transfer your current active certificate from Maryland to New Jersey, you will need to contact the Dept for health and senior services for the approval documents. you can get more details here: CNA Certification transfer to New Jersey

i am a cna ,but i need to be certified inh new jersey . i have been a cna over 20 years , i have worked in maryland for 16 years in hospitals and nursing homes, but i would like to move to new jersey but was told i need to be certified in jersey , can anybody help me?

Yes, it is best to start calling around to Nursing homes and ask if they offer CNA courses. Ask for the Director of Nursing. I took one in WA state and I got my training for free (still have to pay the fee for your state examination) provided I worked there for half a year… I think that is the norm. If you quit before the time you agreed upon, I believe you have to pay them back, but I could be wrong. Good luck! At the very least, you could attend a community college to get your training.
